Aloha!

Welcome to the Polynesian Resort forum on the Disney Echo.

We are pleased to have Steve Seifert (aka Tikiman) co-moderate this forum about the Walt Disney World vacation destination that has been a part of WDW since the World was open to the public: Disney's Polynesian Resort.

Just like Steve's excellent Tikiman's Polynesian Resort Page, this forum is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Walt Disney Co. We are not responsible for any damages that may be a result of the use of the information supplied here. The viewer agrees to this disclaimer by viewing the pages. Logos used on these pages are copyrighted by The Walt Disney Co. Let's hope that keeps the Disney Suits happy, and now on with the fun!

We invite you to post Polynesian Resort tips, trip reports, comments and questions here. In general, this forum is to share information and chat about the Walt Disney World vacation paradise known as Disney's Polynesian Resort.

So sit back, relax with your favorite Tiki drink, and enjoy the tips and reports here while you ponder the Polynesian motto: Aita Peatea -- which means “There will be another day tomorrow just like today.”

Aloha!

Yoo Hoo, Polynesian fans!

You might have noticed the mouse-eared lei in Tikiman's sig (the sig is the lines that automatically go after each message that you post). He was given the first of the new "I'm a Disney EchoEar" pictures that don't have the mouse-eared hat. Instead he has the brand-new mouse-eared lei!

If you would like that to be in your own sig, check out the instructions in the "How Do You Do (It?)" area, which can be found by clicking here.

I just wanted to say Mahalo to Rich again for inviting me here. It is such a nice place to discuss the Polynesian and share accurate information. I have become tired of other boards that are always fighting about some discussion and even as I browse through one of them today I see so much misinformation about the Polynesian that I don’t even want to try and keep up with correcting it.

I know this will be different here. It already is a great mix of people and experiences.

Aloha

Steve

Thanks, Steve!

I appreciate the kind words very much. You, your great information, and the people who have come to the Disney Echo through your website are all valuable additions here.

The Disney Echo has been very fortunate to be a fun 'n friendly place for Disney fans to meet online ever since it started on FidoNet way back in 1991. I'm very happy it remains such a place to this day.

Hey, what does Mahalo mean?

Well I guess you better learn before you leave :wink2:

Mahalo is Hawaiian for Thank you.

Have a great trip. If you get hungry and everything is closed some night head over to Captain Cook's for a personal pizza. I can't tell you how many times I grabbed a pizza on the way back from something late.

Aloha

Steve

 I hate to sound "out of the loop", especially about Disney related topics, but  I have noticed through my "surfing" that everyone stays at the Polynesian.  I haven't heard anything else about the other hotels.  Is it that much better than the others?  Is it baby/toddler friendly?  When we go  our babies will be 2 and a half and 4 and a half (in 2 years, I want to make sure our baby girl is out of diapers   ).  I thought the All Star Movies would be fun because of the larger than life characters.  Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  Thank-you, Kristan   8)

Well most discussion boards have talk about every resort and I hope someday we start boards for the other resorts but here we just talk about the Polynesian. There are other great and just as good resorts but my favorite is the Polynesian. The All Star would be good for kids but it is large and I would not call it Adult friendly myself. Lets just say the Polynesian can make adults and kids happy at the same time and with the monorail in the lobby and all the activities around the resort I would think it would be easier to stay at the Polynesian than the All Star. Even the side of the All Star means you could be walking a long was to get back to your room after waiting for the bus to get back from the parks.

I could go on and on but that is why I created my web pages.

I would look through them all but make youre you go see the Kids Stuff page http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/poly10.html

And you will see the Polynesian not only has a beach but two pools. One pool has a zero entry (which means from the beach it slopes down from zero depth to about 4 feet. There is also a kids wet play area. You can see that here http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/pools.html

And if you want time alone they have a great place to drop the kids off to be watched at the Neverland Club.

Aloha

Steve

Hi Kristan,

I don't know if you are still looking into hotels for when you take your family to Disney, but the Poly is such a fantastic place to stay, that you won't be sorry.  Whenever friends/family go for the first time, I always suggest the Poly because you are close to the MK, have use of 2 monorails right outside your door (the TTC is a short walk from the Poly), the CM are the best, the theming is romantic and playful at the same time, the rooms are large, the pools are incredible, and I could go on and on and on!  And as Tikiman said, the Neverland Club it right there for a parental break!  I hope this helps!
