Yoo Hoo, Disney EchoEars!

Just in case you missed the news in another thread...

This will come as a surprise to many seasoned Walt Disney World guests, but how early you make your reservation for the Spirit of Aloha dinner show at Luau Cove at the Polynesian Resort or the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue in Pioneer Hall in Fort Wilderness does not in any way affect where your party will be seated. What gets you closer to the stage is how early you arrive at the show. Even though you can still make a reservation up to two years in advance, when you do that does not determine where you'll sit.

Thanks to Disney EchoEar Sparkles for confirming and clarifying what I was told about this from another CM when I booked my table at Hoop this week.

Click here for the complete thread and further details!

yes  thats  always been the  case!

Like I said in another thread  I take dining calls
2nd  half  of my  shift  now   and  its not how early
you pick up your  tickets  because  they like you
to pick up  your tickets  as early as  7  days  prior
to the   show at your resort....  Its how early  you  check in at he  podium  because that is   where you  request
your preferred  seating.....  Also all 2 and 3  seaters
at Hoop De Doo are all upstairs.....

Is it possible to have tickets mailed to my address before the vacation, or must the tickets be obtained on site?

Ah, earlier I got it kind of mixed up, so i corrected my earlier posts and here is a summary...

Here's how it works:
  • It doesn't matter how early you call to make your reservation, except that the earlier you call (up to 2 years in advance), the better chance you have that the show you desire will not be sold out.
  • But, get to Pioneer Hall (for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue) or Luau Cove (for the Spirit of Aloha) as early as you can - - because by "general admission" they mean seats will be assigned first come, first served by who is waiting outside the performance first.

So, there is no need to have tickets mailed early (and that isn't even possible) and it doesn't matter how many days before the performance you are checking into your resort and getting your tickets.

What does matter is how early before the show starts you are waiting in line to enter.

I think I've got it now!

Arriving early for seating is always the best strategy for most shows, but what would be the ideal time to report for the Luau in advance of a 5PM showing?  There is ample resources about how soon to line up at Fantasmic, so are there similar recommendations on this board for the Luau?

It would seem there would be a "report for seating" time that is just ahead of the bulk of the crowd, but not too ridiculously early so as to beat the arrival of the cast member in charge of seating guests.  This would be nice to know so as to plan the proper window of time for leaving the Magic Kingdom to get an ideal Luau seating. :eyebrow:

For both the Spirit of Aloha and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, Disney recommends (when you book your reservation on the phone with them, probably if you wait until buying it there from Guest Services, too) that you show up at the show's outdoor podium a half hour before the show.

Now, a lot of people will forget that or be running late, but some will arrive even before that.

So, the answer is, use your best judgement based on the above as well as how long you want to wait there before the show.

I don't think it is necessary to camp out overnight there, as is done in some city's rock concerts, however (or desired by Disney, either) !

Could you check it at the podium 45 min. prior, and then walk over to the petting zoo?   My first "Hoop"..and visit to FW so don't know distances, but on the map it looks pretty close.
