I'm getting this from Mouse Planet's discussion forum.  If any of you are near a Costco store, heads up that previously released DVDs such as Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Goofy, Mickey in Black and White, Disneyland, Walt Disney Studios, Davy Crockett and Silly Symphonies are selling as a box set for $125 + tax.  This is limited supply, limited time, not in the original tins but new packaging.  The person posting this news has the opinion the cheaper price and repackaging is due to damage to the original tins from prior years and couldn't be sold then.  The person also cautions that maybe not all Costco stores have these nor will they have the same number of units per store for sale.  So call ahead and shop around and good luck to you if, for you, this represents a "deal" or not.

Carol, does anyone know where I can get the Davy Crockett Treasures?  it's the only thing Disney my husband loved in childhood... when I got my DL Treasures, he said he would watched it if it was Davy Crockett.... of course, he did watch the small part of it that Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen were in... I know it's not in print now... but my DS never got that one in, or at least never had it in when I looked for it...

I can answer that one, Marsha!

Although it is out of print and not available in retail stores any more, you can < use this link > to buy a used version of the "Walt Disney Treasures - The Complete Davy Crockett Televised Series" DVD through (and you'll be helping the Disney Echo, too! )

Thanks, Rich!  Now all I need is the money! :dollar:

Someone posting on Mouse Planet's Entertainment discussion board about this topic mentions 1) Sometimes you can buy the individual titles from that boxed set off of someone on eBay or through other sources.  2) Some people went to Costco to buy the boxed set and are now turning around and selling them on eBay for outrageously high prices, likely to people who don't know you can get the set at Costco for far cheaper.  The person posted a link, so I copies it to post here so anyone interested can see what's going on and what the set looks like:

It's not just Disney Stores that used to sell these.  If anyone is on a Disney Treasures hunt, try Suncoast Video in some shopping malls and outlet stores in outlet malls that specialize in home video and CDs.

Was anyone successful in finding the boxed sets at their Costco?  I still need the Mickey in Living Color, but it is still too expensive on ebay.  Just wondering if very many sets were sold at Costco.  Our nearest Costco is over 2 hours away so I can't run and look.   :D

Yoo Hoo, Nicki!

Sorry, there's no Costco here (in Louisiana where I am) at all, not even two hours away.
