The bad news is that I was at TDS today and was told that as of 6/01/03 the gate ticket prices at WDW are going up.  Now, for the good news.  The ticket media purchased in advance will remain at the same price it is at now.  It seems WDW is trying to reward those of us that plan with a bit better discount.  Mickey

So run to your local Disney Store (if you have one) or go to disneyworld.com and order tickets now! No matter when you wind up using them, you'll save money! So get them even if you don't know when you're going to WDW!!!

...plus the fact that we'll never know when they'll decide to raise the prices even when buying them in advance!

Hi

I read this earlier this morning on another post.  Our family is not planning on going until December and I was hoping for a package similar to FTP.

I am so saddened, I am not really in a position to buy tickets now.  (I am holding off for my tax cut check)

If Disney is trying to encourage people to visit, why would they increase prices?  It doesnt make sense :glare:

Anyone else hear that?

jonsmom

Disney is not raising the prices if you buy the tickets before going to WDW. They are only raising prices if you wait to buy them when you get to the entrance gates at WDW for the parks.

So, you can buy them by phone, online at disney.com, or in a Disney Store anytime between now and your visit to get them at the lower price.

My comment above in this thread referred to the fact that as in all things Disney, we never know when they will change things, so in your case Joanne there is a chance they will even raise the prices when folks buy the tickets early - - but as of now this is not the plan so you're safe.

I just heard Disney is not just raising ticket prices in the parks, but also any WDW tickets purchased in the state of Florida. That includes Disney Stores there.

Can anyone confirm this?

Here's a news report about this:

A day at the Magic Kingdom will cost you a bit more beginning Sunday.

Walt Disney World's one-day ticket prices at its four parks are
going up by $2, to $52 for adults and $42 for children, plus tax.

The 1 day WDW pass is going up by $2 - up to $52 for adults and $42 for children, plus tax.

Prices also change on the multi-day Park Hopper passes:
  • four-day adult pass goes up to $208 (from $199)
  • five-day regular hopper goes up to $239 (from $229)
  • five-day hopper plus with two plusses goes up to $269 (from $229)

Certain discount deals, such as for Florida residents, have not changed.

Luckily, the price increase does not affect annual pass holders.

Just so everyone knows.  The prices on the disney site don't include tax.  I do have a discount ticket company that I work with.  You can find their info on my website.  They will ship the tickets to you or have them waiting for you at the front desk of your hotel.
